Firefighters puts out stolen truck fire near Catholic school in Central, officials say

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Central Fire Department responded to a truck fire next to a building located at the St. Alphonsus Catholic School on Monday, July 28.

Central FD said that the truck was stolen and the fire was started at 4 a.m. They said it took 10 minutes to get the fire under control.

A fence around air-conditioning units at the school was damaged, Central FD said.

There were no reported injuries due to this fire.

Arson investigators with the Baton Rouge Police Department are looking into this truck fire.

The investigation remains ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
