Missing swimmer found in Tennessee River

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — The body of a missing swimmer was found Sunday, authorities said.

The Florence Police Department took to social media around 12:46 p.m. to say that the body of a missing swimmer had been pulled out of the Tennessee River.

On Saturday, the FPD said several state and local agencies were on the scene at McFarland Park because of a possible drowning. The department also asked citizens to avoid the area to prevent congestion.

The FPD said there are no additional details to share at the time of publication.
