Indianapolis brothers arrested during Westfield drug investigation

WESTFIELD, Ind. — Two brothers have been arrested for suspected drug dealing in Hamilton County.

According to the Westfield Police Department, on July 10, the WPD’s Special Investigations Unit began an investigation into brothers Anthony and Alexander Castillo of Indianapolis.

A traffic stop was conducted on 22-year-old Anthony as he was travelling from Indianapolis to Westfield on July 10. A K9 unit alerted police to the smell of narcotics, and a search of the vehicle took place.

Police found one ounce of psilocybian mushrooms, marijuana and a handgun with an extended magazine.

Following the traffic stop, SIU obtained a search warrant for the Castillos’ apartment in Indianapolis and recovered the following:

  • 11 lbs. of marijuana
  • 1.5 lbs. of psilocybin mushrooms
  • A bottle of Promethazine
  • A small amount of cocaine
  • Hundreds of THC products
  • A loaded revolver and an AR-style pistol
  • Approximately $5,000 in cash

On July 16, an arrest warrant was issued for Alexander, and with the help of the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton County police arrested him on Tuesday.

According to the Hamilton County Jail Logs, Anthony was booked into jail on July 10 — the same day police first began investigating the siblings.

Anthony Castillo is facing the following charges:

  • 2 counts of Level 2 Felony Dealing in a Schedule I Controlled Substance
  • 2 counts of Level 2 Felony Dealing in a Narcotic Drug
  • Level 5 Felony Dealing in Marijuana Over 10 Pounds

Alexander Castillo is facing the following charges:

  • Level 2 Felony Dealing in a Schedule I Controlled Substance
  • Level 2 Felony Dealing in a Narcotic Drug
  • Level 3 Felony Possession of a Narcotic Drug
  • Level 5 Felony Dealing in Marijuana Over 10 Pounds
