HUNTINGDON, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Huntingdon woman is currently being held on $100,000 bail stemming from her infant child suffering multiple injuries after they were left alone with a known dangerous dog, according to a criminal complaint.

Nicole Danielle Jones, 39, is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and endangering the welfare of children, among others, after the June incident. Her one-month-old infant was attacked by the family dog while Jones was showering, according to an affidavit.

Authorities say that PSP Huntingdon was contacted by CYS after the infant was flown to a hospital in Danville, suffering from a skull fracture. Jones would then be asked to come in for questioning.

According to documents, Jones stated she had awoken on the morning of June 3 to feed her child around 6 a.m. She explained that she took a shower shortly after, and that was when she heard a bang and then the infant crying. She allegedly found the infant on the floor with the family dog actively shredding the child’s diaper. Police say the dog, a male German shepherd, had previously been registered as a dangerous dog in August 2024 for biting others in the past.

During a search of the home, Troopers determined that the incident had occurred downstairs, on a different floor than Jones had previously stated. With Jones allegedly claiming that she did not want to say the infant was downstairs since she may get in trouble.

The affidavit goes on to state that the infant suffered from multiple scratches and puncture wounds and broken ribs, in addition to the skull fracture.
