Driver with stolen government license plate tells Minneapolis Police he was on a ‘secret mission’

A driver was arrested in Minneapolis for having a stolen government license plate.

In a bizarre arrest, Minneapolis Police said they were patrolling Lyndale Avenue when officers were alerted by their automatic plate reader to a car using a stolen government plate.

Pulling the vehicle over, police said they asked the driver if he worked for the U.S. Government.

In response, the driver reportedly told police he was on a “secret mission” which was “classified.”

Dubious of this self-proclaimed secret agent, the police decided to verify his claims and learned he was, in fact, not a government worker and took him into custody.

The driver was arrested for having and hiding stolen property.
