Boneyard Fire prompts evacuations in Mariposa County
MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – 200 acres of land are burning just outside of the Mariposa County line on Saturday, prompting evacuations for the surrounding areas.

Cal Fire reports the “Boneyard Fire” ignited just after 1 p.m. and is located on Priest Coulterville Road, north of Jackass Creek Road in Tuolumne County.

Due to the proximity of the wildfire, which has reached 202 acres, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has issued an evacuation order for the following areas:

  • Jackass Ridge Road
  • Jackass Creek
  • Donkey Lane

Deputies have also placed the following areas under an Evacuation Warning:

  • Cueno Road
  • Pine Road
  • Stout Road
  • Sierra Road
  • Chapin Road

A road closure has been placed at Jackass Ridge Road and Cueno Road.

The Red Cross opened a temporary evacuation point at Lake Don Pedro Elementary School in La Grange.
