AFD responds to water rescue near 360 Bridge

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department responded to a water rescue near the 360 Bridge on Saturday.

AFD said on social media it responded shortly after 6 p.m. to the Plaza on the Lake boat ramp by Pennybacker bridge for a report of two swimmers “in distress with one submerging.”

One person was rescued by AFD rescue swimmers and was treated by Austin-Travis County EMS, according to the agency. AFD was still searching for the second swimmer.
