The Utah Department of Transportation is expected to begin construction on Monday, July 28, at 8 a.m. Crews will reduce I-215 northbound to three lanes between SR-201 and North Temple.
The closure will remain in place through next year, according to UDOT. Officials also anticipate both northbound and southbound traffic to be reduced to three lanes in each direction as crews work on the median in early August.
UDOT will also be reconstructing 14 miles of ramps connecting I-215 to SR-201, I-80, and California Avenue. The project will also rehabilitate 22 bridges in an effort to extend the life of the corridor.
Officials with UDOT are reminding drivers that construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
