CHICAGO (WGN) – Residents and businesses of the city’s Mount Greenwood neighborhood on the Far Southwest Side are experiencing low water pressure and outages due to an electrical issue.
Ald. Matthew O’Shea (19th Ward) said at around 12:30 p.m. Friday, the Southwest Pumping Station experienced an electrical issue as a result of the recent storms that moved through Chicagoland.
The electrical issue resulted in low water pressure and outages throughout parts of Mount Greenwood.
Just after 4 p.m., officials said most home have had water restored.

The news comes as another strong weather system is making its way toward Chicagoland. It’s expected to arrive in the overnight hours of late Friday night into early Saturday morning, but some spotty evening showers are expected to arrive by Friday evening.
