ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man accused of stealing tickets from multiple gas stations then cashing them in at other stores has been sentenced to serve 10 years in prison.

Victor Robinson received his 10-year prison sentence Thursday after pleading guilty to Claiming Lottery Prize by Fraud.

Court documents state that in April 2025, clerks at convenience stores across Abilene reported a suspect, later identified as Robinson, had been, “distracting clerks then grabbing lotto scratch off tickets and running out of the store without paying for the tickets.” This suspect would then go cash the tickets in at other convenience stores nearby.

Surveillance videos allowed police to identify Robinson while he was cashing in lottery tickets that were stolen from another convenience store just “minutes before,” according to the documents.
