JAMESTOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — Rescue teams conducted a dangerous nighttime rescue after turbulent water caused a boat to capsize on the Cumberland River side of the Wolf Creek Dam.

Russell County Search and Rescue posted on Facebook that around 9:45 p.m. on Friday, the Army Corps of Engineers was using the dam to generate power when all three men were sent into frigid water conditions.

Rescue team members wrote that generating operations were quickly halted, and all three men were safely rescued “thanks to their life jackets, the swift response and nearby individuals.”
