CHICAGO (WGN) – Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with the Wednesday morning abduction of a 2-year-old girl who was later found safe.

Chicago police said just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, three armed suspects, including a woman known to the girl’s family, broke into an apartment on the 4800 block of South Michigan Avenue.

The suspects abducted a 2-year-old girl before stealing a vehicle, among other property, from the apartment, according to investigators.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Chicago police said the toddler was safely located.

On Friday, police announced the three suspects – identified as 22-year-old Angelique Mobley, 33-year-old Lamon Weathers and 27-year-old Matthew Price – had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

Mobley and Weathers were arrested just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 6300 block of South Kedzie Avenue in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, while Price was arrested just after midnight Thursday morning in the 1600 block of South Central Park Avenue in North Lawndale, according to investigators.

Mobley has been charged with kidnapping, residential burglary and child abduction; Weathers has been charged with aggravated armed kidnapping and home invasion, while Price has been charged with aggravated armed kidnapping, home invasion and possession of a stolen vehicle.

All three suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, July 26.
