Small businesses can now make big business moves with the City of Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – With changes to online portals and application processes, the City of Shreveport is making strides to support local vendors and new small businesses.

To bid to provide goods and services, you are encouraged to visit the new vendor website, where unnecessary requirements have intentionally been removed.

In addition to eliminating a few hurdles from the application, the process has also been moved online to make registering a seamless and accessible experience.

The vendor portal is not the only change for small businesses, the city’s Small Business Task Force has worked to streamline applications involving alcohol cards and licenses.

Mayor Arceneaux says these and other changes were made with new businesses in mind “We’ve also revised the ABO and Liquor licenses so new restaurants and grocery store owners do not have to wait to get started.”

In addition to this, liquor licenses are valid for two years, with Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance (ABO cards receiving a bump up to three years.
