To help navigate the change, Queensborough students and parents were invited to spend some time at their new campus at the end of the last school year.
J.S. Clark’s Principal, Kenya Roberts, says she is dedicated to making sure everyone feels like they have a place there.
“Here at J.S. Clark, we’re gonna make sure all students are successful and all students learn,” said Roberts, “We are all making sure that whatever needs to be put in place for these students to feel welcomed, for the parents to feel welcomed, to know the same exact experience that you got at Queensborough – the same welcoming feeling – you’re gonna get here.”
Due to the closing, teachers from Queensborough have had to seek new employment.
“The teachers from Queensborough were given the opportunity to come to J.S. Clark if they wanted to,” said Roberts, “But like any person, you’d like to choose where you wanna go. So I really only have two people from Queensborough that will be here next year.”
The school will continue to plan for the upcoming year and keep people updated through their Facebook and other social media channels.
