Bloomington, Ind. – July 24, 2025
The former NAPA Auto Parts building at the corner of South Walnut and Third Street was torn down Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025, in the development of Bloomington’s new convention center.
Project Manager Andrew Scere called the demolition a success, noting that it “hit all cylinders from a safety standpoint after all of the coordination efforts.”

With the decades-old structure now gone, construction can begin in earnest on the long-awaited project. “It’s taken a lot to get here,” Scere said, “but now the fun really starts.”
