The annual ranking looks at how stable and affordable a neighborhood is for homebuyers. It factors in things like home values, property taxes, crime rates, and the quality of local schools to determine the overall strength of a housing market.
Topping the list this year is Jena, a town in La Salle Parish, which earned high marks with an A for Overall Niche Grade, a B+ for Public Schools, and an A+ for Housing.
On the other end, Belmont, a small community in Sabine Parish, was named the worst place to buy a house, receiving D- grades for both Housing and Overall Niche Grade.
