SCTA Speed Week will be taking place July 28 through August 8, and BLM said that they are making these temporary changes in order to keep everyone safe.
Here’s what the closures entail.
BLM asked the public to respect the restricted areas. They are for law enforcement, emergency responders, event staff, participants, and BLM personnel to use.
“These type of closures help protect you, the racers, and everyone visiting while the racing action is underway,” BLM said in a social media post.
These temporary closures will go into effect for other events, including Motorcycle Speed Trials from August 25 to 29, USFRA World of Speed from September 2-9, and the SCTA World Finals from September 24-30.
