Thursday welcomes more sunshine in Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Looking ahead at yet another cool day Thursday with some mist and drizzle, but not quite as much as seen the past few mornings. The forecast calls for cloud cover around the bay and mostly sunny skies inland.

High temperatures will reach the 60s to 70s for most areas, with just a couple of low 80s furthest inland.

A low-pressure system off the California coast is bringing cooler-than-normal temps, thick clouds, and a slight chance of drizzle through Friday. The marine layer is unusually deep and patchy, leading to earlier clearing in some areas.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Thursday to 2 a.m. Friday. Minor flooding is expected along the San Francisco and San Pablo Bay shorelines, especially near Richardson Bay, including Sausalito, Tam Valley, Manzanita, and the Sausalito-Mill Valley bike path. Drivers are urged not to enter flooded areas or drive around barricades.

Sunrise in San Francisco is at 6:06 a.m. Sunset is at 8:26 p.m.
