Pennsylvania levies $70,000 in fines against gambling companies

(WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board levied $70,000 in fines this week.
The fines were charged against:
  • Betfair Interactive US, LLC, which does business as FanDuel. It will pay a $40,000 fine for its failure to license several employees, the board said.
  • Sugarhouse HSP Gaming LP, the operator of Rivers Philadelphia Casino, which will pay a $30,000 fine for two instances of allowing a person under 21 years old to access the gaming floor and gamble, the board said.

Seven more people also lost their privilege to gamble in the state. The board placed them on various Involuntary Exclusion Lists, bringing the statewide total to 1,411.

One of the patrons added to the lists left an eight-year-old and a nine-year-old in a hotel room to gamble at the Hollywood Casino at the Meadows for nearly eight hours.

In Pennsylvania, adults are prohibited from leaving minors unattended in parking lots, garages, hotel rooms and other venues at a casino site.
