Pedestrian struck by South Shore train in Gary

GARY, Ind. — A pedestrian was struck by a South Shore train Thursday morning in Gary.

The alert was posted at 6:10 a.m. saying that two trains, #112 and #114, are canceled for Thursday due to a pedestrian strike.

According to its weekday schedule, service still should be working for East Chicago through the city.

A police presence is at the scene near Broadway.
