Columbus Judge Benjamin Land sworn in to Georgia Supreme Court

“Its a big day for the Land family and it’s a big day for the State of Georgia,” Judge Land said in the beginning of his swearing in speech.

Land continued on to thank his brother, U.S. District Judge Clay Land, wife, kids and Governor Brian Kemp. He included heartfelt stories of his internship with the Georgia Supreme Court and of times spent as a state appellate judge, trial court judge, and litigator.

Judge Land previously served on the Georgia Court of Appeals since July 2022, following his appointment to the court by Kemp.

He won election statewide for a full six-year term in 2024. Judge Land was previously a judge on the Superior Court for the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, having been appointed by then-Governor Nathan Deal on Feb. 7, 2018.
