ST. CHARLES, Ill. — An investigation is underway this week after a motorcyclist was killed in an overnight crash in the western suburbs on Tuesday.

Officials from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office said the crash unfolded around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of South Randall Road and Red Gate Road in St. Charles.

Deputies said a preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries after colliding with a 2007 Range Rover SUV as its driver turned east onto Rad Gate Road from a southbound lane of Randal Road.

According to deputies, following the turn, the driver of the SUV had reported an impact to the rear of her vehicle, but allegedly believed that it was from a collision with an animal. She then exited their vehicle and noticed damage to the rear passenger-side panel of her car.

A witness who spotted the crash then informed the driver of the SUV that she had collided with a motorcyclist.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist in critical condition shortly before they began providing medical assistance.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office later identified the motorcycle driver as 19-year-old Angelo Bradley, a St. Charles resident.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Investigations Division is currently investigating the crash and no charges have been filed against the driver of the SUV.

While authorities have identified the driver of the SUV involved in the crash, WGN News has chosen not to publish their name, given that no criminal charges have been filed.
