Portland resident Jalen Hudson, 21, was identified as the victim in the homicide that happened in the Portsmouth Neighborhood, Portland police said.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined his manner of death was homicide and he died from gunshot wounds.
Hudson’s family was notified of his death. Though the family requested privacy, they released photos of Hudson for the public.
The homicide investigation is ongoing, police said.
On July 20, just after 11 a.m., police said they responded to reports of a shooting in the 9300 block of North Newman Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a person with gunshot wounds — later identified as Hudson — who died at the scene, despite police attempting life-saving measures.
So far, police have not released any information about a possible suspect.
If anyone has information, they are encouraged to contact Portland police.
