SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport Police Department arrested two people on charges related to narcotics distribution and illegal firearm possession.
Cody Jefferson was arrested on Thursday, July 18, during a traffic stop and faces charges of three counts of Narcotics Distribution, Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS), and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Alton Daniels was arrested during a separate traffic stop on Sunday, July 20, and faces charges of Narcotics Distribution, Possession of a Firearm with a CDS, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
“These arrests reflect the ongoing efforts by the Shreveport Police Department to combat illegal drug activity and reduce gun violence in our community,” a press release stated. “So far in 2025, SPD has seized over 600 firearms from individuals who possessed them illegally. The department remains committed to making our neighborhoods safer by removing illegal weapons from our streets and holding offenders accountable.”
