FIRE WATCH: Rick Springs Fire starts, road closures in effect in Logan Canyon

CACHE COUNTY (ABC4) — A new fire has started in Logan Canyon and reached 70 acres, prompting closures of US Highway 89

Utah Fire Info released information that a new fire has started in Cache County in Logan County. The fire, titled the Rick Springs Fire, has already grown to approximately 70 acres and is burning in heavy timber.

Due to the fire, Highway 89 has been closed between First Dam and the rest area (MP461-493).

At this time, it is not clear what started the fire. Officials have not released information on when Logan Canyon will reopen.
