CHICAGO — A marked Chicago Police Department vehicle was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Monday evening that left multiple people hospitalized.
According to CPD, the crash occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 5600 block of West Chicago Avenue. The squad car, which had its lights and sirens activated, struck a Nissan.
The impact then caused the Nissan to collide with a Hyundai, police say.
Authorities say multiple individuals were taken to area hospitals following the crash. However, the exact number of people or their conditions has not yet been released.
The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation. It is unclear whether the officer involved sustained injuries.
