The office said a scammer has been identifying themselves as a member of their agency and threatens arrests if payments are not made for old warrants.
The calls have been coming from 708-668-0646, according to police.
“The public is advised that if they receive a call from someone claiming to be with law enforcement to get the caller’s full name, badge number, and phone number. Do not follow the caller’s instructions nor use the number provided by the caller to contact the agency,” the office said.
Anyone who has information about the scam is asked to call police at 708-865-4896.
