Bessemer 3-year-old dies after being left in hot car

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A child died Tuesday evening after being left alone inside of a hot car in Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirms Keterrius Sparks, of Bessemer, was found alone inside of a car at a home on the 1500 block of Pine Tree Drive in Birmingham.

It is unknown precisely how long Sparks was left in the vehicle, but the vehicle was locked and windows were rolled up at the time Sparks was found.

The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the circumstances of Sparks death.
