Bee makes an AI-equipped wristband that resembles a Fitbit and has a microphone that can listen to and analyze conversations and provide summaries and takeaways, and reflections and insights.

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the plan to acquire Bee to CNBC.
The acquisition of the AI-enabled device maker is the latest sign of Amazon and other tech giants going all in on generative AI. The AI arms race has seen Facebook parent company Meta poaching employees from OpenAI and reportedly even dangling $100 million signing bonuses to lure talent.
The Bee bracelet, known as the Pioneer Band, begins shipping in September and is available for $49.99. The terms of Amazon’s deal to acquire the company were not disclosed.
