The fire took place on Mather Street just before 10:30 Tuesday morning, according to NBC Boston. Firefighters say the home was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived.
Crews found 80-year-old Dolores Greene in the home. Though they say they tried to save her, she died from her injuries.
The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, is assisting with the investigation into the cause of the fire.
