ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (
KLFY) — The folks at
St. Landry Economic Development say it’s important to build an entrepreneurial culture across St. Landry Parish. With that goal in mind, they’ve been hard at work renovating their central office into a resource for entrepreneurs to grow their business.
“By offering a number of different physical assets, but also being able to make connections,” said Bill Rodier, the CEO of St. Landry Economic Development.
Economic Development’s Cajun Acceleration Station provides business owners with one-on-one coaching and mentoring but also provides various workspaces for those who need it.
Rodier gave News 10 a tour through their primary training area, along with other areas that can boost productivity.
Among those facilities was one of their offices which are fully equipped with desk and storage space for tenants that need to get work done but don’t have an office of their own. Additionally, there is a collaborative audio-visual area.
“There’s a need for the ability to have creative spaces to brainstorm, to help facilitate ideas,” Rodier said.
Rodier said there is also a board room available for big meetings or Zoom meetings.
Finally, there is a podcast and videocast studio equipped with mics and editing software to get any podcast idea for your business off the ground.
Rodier says taking the time to perfect these office spaces will give more entrepreneurs the chance to help bring in a new economic boom in St. Landry Parish and beyond.
“We’ve got the tools in place,” said Rodier. “Maybe people have the dreams and the visions in place. But really pushing that mindset, I mean, our greatest benefit with our people is their minds, right? So how do we get people to really engage their minds and follow their dreams is a large extent. What we try to help facilitate here.”
Any business owner who is interested in utilizing the space or any of St. Landry Economic Development’s resources can reach out to them directly.
