Motorcyclist dies after crash in Fairfax: police

Virginia State Police (VSP) said a motorcyclist was driving on Interstate 495 at around 5:30 p.m. when they hit a guardrail.

The rider had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where they later died.

The motorcycle continued down the interstate for almost a mile after the crash.

VSP said a medical emergency may have caused the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
