During his court appearance, a judge entered a not guilty plea for Jerry Glynn Dennis, 64. He will remain detained without bond.
The incident occurred in the 100 block of Cedar Ridge Boulevard on July 1, 2025.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said the victim told investigators that she was getting ready for an open house event at the location. She stated that a man, who was identified as Dennis, came inside the home and said he was there for the open house.
The victim told investigators that Dennis then pulled out a handgun, and they struggled over the firearm. According to Bailey, the victim was able to bite Dennis in the arm, and he pistol whipped her.
The sheriff said the victim was then sexually assaulted by Dennis. Bailey said Dennis stole the victim’s car keys and her cellphone before he fled the location.
Investigators said Dennis was arrested at a residence in Rankin County. Dennis was charged with two counts of sexual battery, kidnapping and armed robbery. He is being held in the Rankin County Detention Center.
