KY getting national recognition for combating human trafficking

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Kentucky is getting national recognition for its efforts to combat human trafficking.

Secretary of State Michael Adams joined a panel at a day-long forum hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC.

He spoke about his office’s prevention effort that started about six months ago. Back in January, Adams launched the “Kentucky Businesses Against Human Trafficking” initiative.

He says the goal is to involve businesses, raise awareness and connect victims with help. In six months, the program has partnered with over 1,000 businesses to fight human trafficking.

Businesses can learn more about getting involved on the Secretary of State’s website.
