By rssfeeds-admin NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Jimmy Graham’s incredible NFL run will reportedly end in the city where it all started.
NewOrleansSaints.com senior writer John Deshazier announced on social media that Graham plans to retire from the NFL this year, “fittingly as a Saint.”
The New Orleans Saints selected Graham in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft after four years of college basketball and one year of college football at Miami.
The 6’7 talent would see just five starts his rookie season, but in 2011, he posted 11 starts in 16 appearances with a career-high in receptions (99) and receiving yards (1,310) with 13 touchdowns.
He added three touchdown catches in two playoff games.
He was a Second-team All-Pro selection in 2011.
Graham was a First-team All-Pro selection in 2013 after hauling in a career-high 16 touchdowns, which was the most in the NFL that season..
Graham and the Saints agreed to a 4-year, $40 million deal after a franchise tag dispute before the 2014 season.
One year later, Graham was traded to Seattle.
After two years with the Seahawks, two with the Packers and two with the Bears, Graham returned to New Orleans on a one-year deal for the 2023 football season. He recorded four touchdown catches, and that is the last time he played football in the NFL.
Graham was a five-time Pro Bowl selection in his 13-year NFL career and one of the best pass-catchers to ever wear the black and gold.
