Just before 8:30 p.m., police say, officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 400 block of North Lawndale Avenue, near the edge of the Garfield Park and Humboldt Park neighborhoods.
Police say the child found the gun in a bedroom. Moments later, an adult male inside the home heard a loud noise and found the child with a graze wound to his left wrist.
The toddler was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
A weapon was recovered at the scene. No one is in custody, and detectives are still investigating.
