(KRON) — Applebee’s has been one of America’s staple casual dining restaurants for decades. However, despite being well-known to millions of Americans, the restaurant chain announced in 2024 it would close more than 25 locations nationwide.

The closures continue and have affected restaurants in the Bay Area. Last year, the Applebee’s in Antioch shut down after more than 25 years. Now, the latest Applebee’s to close will be in the North Bay.

Applebee’s in Rohnert Park is closing this month, a company spokesperson confirmed to KRON4. The final day of service for the restaurant, located at 501 Rohnert Park Expressway, is on Sunday, July 27.

The Rohnert Park Applebee’s first opened in August of 2005. The company said the reason for the closure is “part of a broader business strategy.”
