According to court documents, David Gervacio, 22, Cristian Gervacio, 18, and Johnny Gervacio, 28, “acted in concert” with two other suspects to “commit a violent group assault” that resulted in two stabbings during a private birthday party at a Heber City restaurant over the weekend.
The three men each face one count of first-degree felony attempted murder and third-degree felony assault as well as misdemeanor assault, obstruction of justice and criminal trespass. Cristian Gervacio also faces an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Police say all three were allegedly part of a group of five men that disrupted an after-hours quinceañera party and resulted in a double stabbing. When officers arrived, just after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, they reportedly found an unusually large crowd and two victims.
The first victim, a 34-year-old male, suffered a stab wound to his abdomen and was airlifted to a Salt Lake City hospital in critical condition. The second victim, a 21-year-old male, was treated on the scene for a stab wound to his leg and was released on the scene.
Following an investigation, detectives identified the three Gervacio men as being involved, saying surveillance video “clearly shows” the three working with two others to confront the first victim. David, Cristian, and Johnny were all arrested during the execution of their Heber City residence, where officers also allegedly found a $5 bill belonging to Cristian with a substance that allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine.
The fourth suspect has reportedly been identified by detectives and remains outstanding as of Tuesday morning, July 22. Officers report they are actively working on identifying the fifth suspect.
