Stafford County woman allegedly fatally shoots ex-boyfriend, deputies investigating

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly fatally shooting her ex-boyfriend, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say, around 12:40 p.m., a woman called stating she “thinks” she shot and killed her ex-boyfriend at her home on Rocky Run Road.

There, deputies found a 31-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Deputies say Ashlynn Blair, 32, was charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

According to deputies, Blair was taken into custody, and the firearm believed to have been used during the shooting was found on her person.

Deputies say the shooting was deemed domestic, with the circumstances leading to the shooting remaining under investigation.

Blair is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
