St. Michael’s Church continues tradition of blessing vehicles

SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah parish continued a longstanding tradition of blessing vehicles Sunday morning.

Father Bohdan Vasyliv, parochial vicar of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Shenandoah, blessed vehicles Sunday after liturgy.

The blessings, a longstanding tradition in the Ukrainian Catholic church, recognizes the prophet Elijah.

At least a dozen cars parked outside St. Michael’s Church and in its two parking lots on Chestnut Street were blessed.
