Police stop car with 5 occupants in Rockford; one arrested after gun found

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — 18-year-old Bryce Lenderman has been arrested after police stopped a car with 5 occupants onboard, and he was found to be carrying a gun with an extended magazine, police said.

Officers with the Rockford Police Department’s Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team stopped a car in the area of W. State and Church Streets around 11 p.m. on Friday night.

Lenderman was arrested on charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and no valid Firearm Owner’s Identification.

He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail.
