The 26-year-old mother of four vanished nearly two months ago, according to her family members. According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, her body was discovered in a shallow grave on July 14.
Charles Sims was officially charged with first-degree murder in the case. Authorities said Sims led them to the location of her body.
Williams’ family believes that justice has not been fully served and that Sims did not act alone.
“Certain things should have never happened, not only to my child but the other women, the other people. It ended with mine, but it didn’t start with mine. Whether they were brainwashed or just doing it to do it, right is right and wrong is wrong, and all of this is wrong. He should answer and the others should answer, too,” said Audrey Davis Rogers, the aunt of Williams.
According to authorities, Williams was one of several women romantically involved with Sims. He’s believed to have four to five partners and is the father of at least 22 children.
There are claims that Sims may be leading a secluded group with some sources referring to it as a cult. Lawrence County Sheriff Ryan Everett said Sims’ property has compound-like features, but he stopped short of labeling it.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help pay for the funeral expenses for Williams.
