Convicted Greenfield child molester sentenced to 74 years

GREENFIELD, Ind. — A former YMCA employee found guilty of molesting multiple children has been sentenced to 74 years in prison.

Jericho Johnson was found guilty in June of seven counts of child molestation and three counts of child abuse.

Allegations against Johnson were first brought to light

in February 2024. Johnson worked for a YMCA after-school program and was accused of molesting several children at a Greenfield elementary school.

As the investigation stretched on, more victims came forward as investigators learned Johnson’s work for the YMCA took him inside several Hancock County schools. Police also discovered that Johnson worked for Shining Stars daycare facility.

At least eight children have come forward throughout the investigation accusing Johnson of molesting them.

Now, Johnson will spend more than half a century behind bars.
