Man charged in domestic incident involving mother pleads guilty

A man charged with injuring his mother and being in possession of drugs and paraphernalia to use drugs appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court/Criminal Division Monday.

Thirty-one-year-old Dustin Issac Dearmore entered a guilty plea to the charges against him and was sentenced to four years probation.

He was arrested December 4 last year after Baxter County sheriff’s deputies and Mountain Home police officers responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance that had become physical at an address along Wehmeyer Loop.

The lawmen were told that Dearmore had allegedly caused injury to his then 58-year-old-mother.

The victim told police an argument had been going on concerning “some family matters” and that Dearmore had “become agitated” and pushed her to the ground injuring her hand.

She said her son had been “physically violent” with her in the past.

Dearmore was reported to have fled the residence prior to lawmen arriving on scene but was found in the area and questioned.

Both before and after being transported to the Baxter County Detention Center officers found a smoking pipe used to ingest methamphetamine, pills reported to contain clonazepam and suboxone.

Dearmore was reported not to have had a valid prescription for either of the controlled substances.

A marijuana grinder was also located.

While on the way to the county jail Dearmore was asked if he had any other illegal items on his person and Dearmore said he had tried to hide something in the patrol car.

When the area where he was sitting was checked a small plastic bag containing a substance field-testing positive for methamphetamine was found on the floorboard.
