VERMILION PARISH, La. (KLFY) — Two men were arrested following a vehicle search that resulted in the seizure of four pounds of marijuana and a .300 black out pistol, deputies said.

On Tuesday, deputies arrested Christopher Samuels, Jr., 20 and Braylon Wesley, 25.

• Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
• Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone (school)
• Poss of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Drug Fee Zone (school

Wesley is charged for the following:

• Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I (Marijuana)
• Conspiracy to Distribute Schedule I (Marijuana)
• Poss of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Drug Fee Zone (school

According to deputies, they were contacted by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding a subject attempting to distribute a large amount of suspected marijuana.

Deputies said they conducted surveillance in the area where the suspect was thought to be. Agents observed the suspected vehicle, and a search was conducted involving the vehicle with Wesley and Samuels.

No further updates on Wesley and Samuels’s bond status were released.
