The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon said 46-year-old Travis Donnahoo was sentenced to 10 years in prison with four years’ supervised release.
According to court documents, McMinnville police officers arrested Donnahoo March 12, 2023, on four outstanding warrants for his arrest. Authorities also noted Donahoo’s lengthy history of drug trafficking, including five previous state convictions for distributing drugs in the state.
The day of his arrest, officers searched Donnahoo and seized a firearm, cash and a black zippered case.
The next day, investigators executed a search warrant on the zippered case, where they found 145 grams of meth and 322 grams of counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl.
Later, on March 22, 2023, Donahoo was charged with possessing fentanyl and meth with intent to distribute along with possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and felon in possession of a firearm.
Donnahoo pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Authorities noted the dangers of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that’s 80-100 times more powerful than morphine and 30-50 times more powerful than heroin.
A 2-milligram dose of the synthetic opioid – about a few grains of the substance – is enough to kill an average adult male, the U.S. Attorney’s Office warns.
