Report shows Kentucky electricity rates below national average
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The statewide coalition Dependable Power First Kentucky unveils results from a new report on the state’s utility rates.

The report shows Kentucky’s electricity rates are 22% below the national average, but the coalition said EPA regulations have driven coal plant retirements, which has created a gap between power supply and demand.

Unless something changes, the coalition said families and businesses will face higher costs and be more vulnerable to power outages and rolling blackouts.
