DARKWATER – A motorcycle crash late last month on Route 61 in New Castle Township could be blamed on a pothole, state troopers said this week.
According to State Police at Frackville, the crash happened around noon on June 30 on Route 61 just north of Darkwater Road.
Scott Williams, 67, of Frackville, was headed south on Route 61 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when troopers said he struck a pothole in the roadway.
That busted the front fender cover, locking up the front wheel and bringing down the bike.
Williams and his passenger, 61-year-old Penny Scherer, of Frackville, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said.
