Authorities responded to reports of domestic violence in the 1700 block of Auburn Street on July 17, around 9:30 p.m. Police saw Helm run back into the house when they arrived.
Helm proceeded to break an upstairs window, court documents show.
Officers entered the home and found Helm inside the attic. He was taken into custody shortly after.
The victim had multiple visible injuries, officials reported.
The victim said that she was attacked by a completely different person, according to court records.
A witness told authorities that Helm and the woman had a physical altercation near the garage of the home. Officers reported that blood was seen in the same area when they arrived.
Helm is charged with domestic battery that caused bodily harm and criminal property damage.
