FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A Baltimore man is facing charges after a traffic stop led to the seizure of suspected cocaine on Tuesday night, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) detailed.

Just after 8:30 p.m. on July 15, an FCSO deputy stopped 25-year-old Donta Shawn Allen on Route 340 for an equipment violation.

During the stop, the deputy said they suspected drug activity and requested help from an FCSO K9 unit. The K9 alerted positively for the presence of narcotics while conducting a scan of the car.

Deputies searched the vehicle and recovered about 385 grams of suspected cocaine, packed into multiple bags.

Allen was arrested and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute – cocaine (felony); CDS possession not cannabis – cocaine (misdemeanor); and CDS possession of paraphernalia.

He was held without bond.
